Please Read BEFORE Connecting to the Internet!
Connecting the DVR to the Internet exposes it to numerous threats and vulnerability from malicious Internet attacks and viruses. Approximately 14% of all Internet traffic is malicious so proper precautions are ESSENTIAL to protect and prevent harm to the DVR. Therefore before connecting to the internet you MUST do the following:
| |
Ensure you have an external firewall for the DVR. We recommend setting up a router with hardware firewall
Configure the external firewall or port forwarding router for the following port ranges to the DVR with a static internal IP Address:
| Port Range |
Reason |
| 3000-3003 TCP |
Video Transmission |
| 3004-3005 UDP |
Remote Notification |
3007 TCP |
Video Transmission |
| 8800-8801 TCP |
Audio Transmission |
| 80 TCP |
Direct Web (Web Server) |
Avoid all unnecessary Internet usage on the DVR as Internet surfing installs viruses and spy wares on the system.
Practice safe Internet habits and avoid downloading any files from the Internet. Even downloads from big sites like Microsoft can sometimes install viruses on the system.
Installation of ANY 3 rd party software without written consent from Videon Digital Technologies will VOID the warranty on the system immediately.
